I'm a hopeless romantic who smiles so much behind my camera that my cheeks hurt by the end of most of my shoots! I’m a wedding and family photographer, virtual storyteller, golden sunset-seeker, and the ultimate hype woman.
Picture this: a stunning white barn glowing in golden hour light. Forty acres of peaceful Minnesota countryside stretch around you. Your guests are gathered on rustic wooden benches. And you’re about to marry your favorite person. Welcome to Ivory North, where country calm meets modern design in the most magical way.

This Mora MN wedding venue sits tucked away in Kanabec County. It’s just over an hour north of the Twin Cities. That means your guests get the best of both worlds. They experience a private countryside escape without a crazy long drive. For couples dreaming of a Minnesota barn wedding with a fresh, modern twist? This place is an absolute dream.
The vibe here is bright, airy, and completely Pinterest-worthy. Think of it as a blank canvas with character. There’s no dark wood or cluttered decor fighting against your vision. Instead, you get clean white walls and gorgeous natural light. It’s perfect for couples who want their style to shine through.

Here’s something special about this Ivory North wedding venue. The barn was originally built in the early 1900s! But don’t expect dusty old wood and dim lighting. The owners transformed it into something truly stunning. The arch roof remains, adding that classic barn silhouette. But inside? Everything is fresh, bright, and modern.
As a photographer, I get genuinely excited about this space. The all-white interiors are a dream for natural light photography. No orange-toned wood casting warm tones everywhere. No dark corners swallowing up your gorgeous details. Just beautiful, soft light pouring through the windows. Additionally, the modern fixtures and clean lines work with any color palette. Whether you’re going boho, minimalist, or romantic, the venue supports your vision.
The soaring ceilings create this incredible sense of space and openness. It’s equally perfect for intimate indoor ceremonies or cozy receptions. Meanwhile, every angle photographs beautifully. Trust me on this one!

One thing I love about outdoor wedding venue Minnesota options like Ivory North? The variety! You’re not stuck with just one ceremony spot. Furthermore, the flow between spaces feels natural and easy.
Imagine exchanging vows surrounded by 40 acres of diverse landscape. Wildflowers sway in the breeze. Tall grasses create that dreamy, romantic backdrop. It feels private and nature-immersed in the best way. Handcrafted wood benches are often included for your guests. They add to that rustic-modern aesthetic without feeling fussy.
The open-air pavilion is attached to the barn. This is where the magic of indoor-outdoor flow really shines. Your guests can enjoy a fresh Minnesota breeze while staying covered. It’s perfect for dinner under the evening sky. Moreover, the transition from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception feels seamless here.

String lights overhead? Check. Space for dancing under the stars? Absolutely. The patio area is pure magic once the sun goes down. There’s also a fire pit for late-night hangouts. Some of my favorite candid shots come from guests gathered around the flames!
Beyond the gorgeous ceremony spots, Ivory North delivers on all the practical stuff too. Because let’s be real. A beautiful venue means nothing if the logistics are a nightmare!
The on-site bridal suite and groom’s room are both photogenic AND relaxing. Getting ready photos here are effortless. No weird fluorescent lighting or cluttered backgrounds. Just beautiful natural light and thoughtful design. Additionally, the Farmhouse is available nearby. It’s Airbnb-style accommodations for extra convenience!

Here’s my favorite part about this venue. The owners, April and Blake, are wedding photographers themselves! Consequently, every single corner is designed with lighting and composition in mind. There are literally no “bad angles” at this venue. As someone who has photographed at countless Minnesota wedding venues? That’s incredibly rare and so appreciated.
Your guests will love it here too! There are lawn games for cocktail hour entertainment. Parking is ample and accessible. The venue comfortably hosts up to around 200 guests. Therefore, whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a bigger celebration, you’re covered.

As a wedding photographer, I’m always scouting the best spots. Here are the shots I can’t wait to capture at this venue:
The barn’s exterior serves as a clean, high-fashion backdrop. It’s perfect for those editorial-style portraits. The white walls make colors pop beautifully!
The open fields face west. In other words, they’re perfectly oriented for that sunset glow. Golden hour portraits here are absolutely unreal. The light just wraps around you.
Tall trees surround the property. They’re ideal for those moody, woodland portraits. If you love that enchanted forest vibe, we’ll definitely spend some time here!
Some of my favorite shots are the unplanned ones. Guests roasting marshmallows at night? Pure magic. The warm glow of firelight creates the coziest atmosphere.

Looking at reviews of the venue, a few themes pop up again and again. Couples rave about the “stress-free” and “relaxed” atmosphere. The owners get constant praise for being hands-on, genuine, and helpful. However, the most common compliment? The “blank canvas” flexibility.
Couples have done everything from boho-chic to modern minimalism here. The clean aesthetic works with literally any wedding style. You’re not fighting against the venue’s existing decor. Instead, it enhances whatever vision you bring to the table.

If you want the privacy and romance of a farm wedding? But you don’t want to sacrifice modern style and luxury? This is absolutely your venue. The combination of historic charm and contemporary design is truly special. Plus, the photographer-designed spaces mean your photos will be stunning.
