Sometimes, a wedding is so spectacular and a couple is so in love, that you just want to photograph it all again and again. Emily and Connor’s farm wedding in Hastings, Minnesota was one of those days for me! The sweetest couple, the perfect venue – and goats! What more could you ask for? Let’s travel back to Emily and Connor’s big day and relive the magic. 

Almquist Farm in Hastings, Minnesota mightttt be one of my favorite wedding venues ever! This classic red barn is the dreamiest space for your Minnesota farm wedding – in any season! Emily and Connor’s September wedding had the perfect fall weather for beautiful shots of Almquist Farm’s wedding barn and acres of green space. 

Emily and Connor did their getting ready on different floors of the granary, surrounded by their bridesmaids and groomsmen and families. Emily’s choice of a navy and red color palette looked beautiful against the backdrop of the traditional red barn. 

After getting ready, Emily and her father, Jim, shared a special “first look” of their own, before Emily and Connor shared an intimate “no look” moment before their ceremony, where they read letters they had written to each other. 

For the ceremony and reception, Emily and Connor brought in so many personalized touches, their personalities really shone through!  For example, a Minnesota farm wedding was the perfect choice, since Connor’s mom’s side is from Hastings and grew up on a farm! 

Another personalized touch was the Packers and Vikings colored sand for their sand ceremony – the perfect touch when a football rivalry runs as deep as Emily and Connor’s! These two goofballs struck the perfect balance between sweet and silly throughout their big day! Emily and Connor’s reception also had some fun, personalized touches including a donut wall – ingenious! 

During cocktail hour, Emily, Connor, and I explored some of Almquist Farm’s seventy lush acres – one of the many benefits having a farm wedding in Minnesota! Emily and Connor kept each other – and me! – laughing the entire time! The farm had so many stunning backdrops, including a beautiful field of yellow flowers, stunning treescapes, and of course the barn! 

After dinner, we snuck out to take some more photos against the farm’s beautiful backdrops while the sun started to set. Almquist Farm actually had goats who were excited to congratulate the happy couple!

Connor – who told me beforehand that he was most excited about the dancing – kept the party going until the very last song! When the night was over, it was clear that Emily and Connor’s lifetime of fun and adventure was just beginning. I am so excited to congratulate Mr. & Mrs. McCarthy and see all that life brings these two beautiful souls!
